Be Soothing With The Best Sencha ♪
A new production area has been added to our sencha. ZENJIRO Sencha Kyoto Uji. A new series of sencha was born to commemorate the 450th anniversary of Kuroda Kyubei.
This is the finest first flush tea from Uji, Kyoto, a famous production area that represents Japan.
Uji-tawara town in the southern part of Kyoto Prefecture where tradition is still alive. It is also famous as the town of Nagatani Soen, who invented the sencha method in the Edo period. There are tea plantations near the road deep in the mountains where The first Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu crossed Iga to esacape.
Instead of matcha or gyokuro, we purposely chose the finest sencha. It is a sencha with a rich theanine flavor.
You can enjoy it with either cold brew or hot tea. In the case of cold brew, it is best to add room temperature water and let it brew for a slightly longer 30-40 minutes in the refrigerator. For warm tea, brew with hot water below 70˚C for about 1 minute. For the 2nd and 3rd infusions, raise the temperature slightly or lengthen the brewing time.
Enjoy the traditional taste of Sencha from Uji, Kyoto, and relax your mind and body for healthy days.
*For your reference: Information on tea production areas is also introduced on the "Producing Area" page.
